sooo its been awhile.

It's been awhile since I've posted.

How is the non smoking going? Its hard but I'm dealing with it. Having someone besides family to tell me I needed to quit...helped alot. My doctor told me I had to do it for more reasons than one. We're currently waiting on tests results from my doctor right now and once we find them out...hopefully we'll have the answers we want to hear. I went home over the weekend and had Thanksgiving with my family seeing as how I won't get to go home for Thanksgiving for work. We put up our Christmas tree over the weekend as well...so We're getting excited!!!

Health Wise

Laying in bed last night, Hubby & I started talking and we decided we were going to quit smoking. We know we need to do it for our health, especially since I'm already having health issues, and we need to do it for our future. So I smoked my last one this morning and its not as hard as I thought it would be...I can do this!

ROLL TIDE!

So last weekend Stephen and I had a little getaway weekend. We decided late Friday night we wanted to go to the Alabama game. We went down and had a blast. We stayed that Saturday night and just enjoyed our time alone in T-Town. It honestly brought us closer together, seeing as how we've both been busy with work here lately. It was exactly what we needed.  & Alabama even won the game so thats a huge plus.

Tips

What we do:

Mall? Really? No!
You will hardly ever catch us making a special trip to the mall to get something.
If we're in the town of our mall, we might swing by but to just say we're going to the mall, we never do. We go online to our favorite stores, check out their clearance and on sale deals and if we order something we then go to google and look for coupon codes. Most of the time you can find some for FREE SHIPPING or 15% off entire purchase or more...eventually that will save you TONS of money.

Newspapers? Yes
We get a paper every Sunday but we also have a Subscription to ALL YOU. If you don't know what that is, its a magazine that has TONS of coupons, recipes, tips on how to save money and so on....its $2.24 an issue but I got 3 years subscription for $1.66 an issue :)

During The Wedding.
I searched for used items off craigslist, on TK and so on. I knew when Hobby Lobby was having a 50% off bridal sale, I would go :) and it saved a TON of money. I made my own bouquets and my bridesmaid bouquets. I made the guy's boutineers and so on. I have items for sale now, so if you're interested email me at leahwilliamson08@live.com and I will get back with you :)

Going Out.
If we go out we normally get one entree and split it because I don't eat that much anyways when I'm out and it  saves us money. We don't go to the movies, we wait til they come out on DVD being in the comfort of our own home is more comfortable to me.

My Story

Hey!

My name is Leah, I'm 19 years old and I was just married on August 28,2010. I'm a girl that loves to clip coupons and wants to save money any way she can, no matter what others think & here's my story.

As a young child, my mom would clip coupons, I HATED going shopping with her, I was embarrassed when she used them.  Then for awhile she stopped. When I was in my teenage years(as I still am) she started using them again I didn't think much about it.

As a kid I never had to want for anything. My husband calls me spoiled and I guess you can say I was. If I wanted something, sooner or later, I got it. It didn't hurt me to ask my parents for $100 or so a week. I really thought money grew on trees. When I started working, I never wanted to pay my car payment or my phone bill I just wanted to blow my money, and I did.

Well since May of 2010 I've pretty much grew up A LOT. My now husband & I moved in together and I saw first hand how hard it was to live on one income.( I moved to another state to be with him) It was TOUGH. Me going from blowing money to not having any money to blow. All our money had to go to bills or groceries. Finally I got a job and we had extra money.

One Sunday Morning we decided to get a newspaper and coupons were in it. I clipped a few, but I didn't use them. The next Sunday I did the same thing. Well I got tired of our grocery bill being right at $100 a week so we started clipping coupons and using them. So far in the past month we have save right at $150 by using coupons.

I started this blog to help myself and to help others because in this day and world saving money is key. Whether you don't have the extra money,on a tight budget, or want to save money for Christmas, vacation,a new house, a new car, etc.
